Welcome to Horowhenua College.

Choosing a high school is an important decision for parents and their young adults.  By any criteria ours in a unique school with approximately 600 students from a wide variety of backgrounds and we provide programmes for the most able students to those with special learning needs.

We welcome all students, those with special and pronounced talents and those with average ability.  Every student’s contribution is equally valuable and their development is of equal importance to us.

We are situated in Levin, a safe and supportive community and we have a rich blend of rural and urban students with a diversity of cultures.  We welcome international students from all over the world as we are a truly comprehensive multicultural co-educational college.

Each student is regarded as an individual and our focus is to develop his or her particular strengths, talents and interests while also ensuring that intellectual and personal versatility that is required for life after college is developed.

Our aim is to ensure that all students take part in as wide a range of experience’s academic, sporting and cultural and have encountered all high expectations of cooperation, enthusiasm, conduct, tolerance, consideration for others and high motivation.

Our scholastic record is excellent and we are equally proud of our outstanding sports records, musicians, artists, actors and Maori and Pacific Island cultural groups.

Horowhenua College encourages and supports our students to experience a range of activities.  We are privileged to be able to develop the strengths of all students and then foster a will to use these strengths in the pursuit of excellence for the benefit of the school, themselves and the community.

The majority of our students move on to tertiary education at university or other training institutions or into the work place with the skills required to step out with confidence into the world beyond school.
